Scroll to learn how your house can be filled with decor inspired by The Spellshop by Sarah Beth Durst! I truly love the atmosphere in this book, and I needed to find ways to bring it to life. I have created different rooms inspired by different parts of

the book. I hope you can find something you didn't realize you needed.

Inspired by the Front Cover

I am 99% sure I picked up this book because of the cover, so naturally, it inspired one of my rooms. I have generated two different kitchens that subtly bring out the vibes of a book in a modern way. The first picture features light green cabinets, wooden countertops, open shelving, antique decor, and scattered plants. The second picture adds touches of blue to emphasize the fact that our lovely fmc is blue.

Cozy kitchen with a window, shelves, and various plants; your home's decor!
A charming rustic kitchen bathed in warm natural light.

This charming cottage kitchen glows with golden sunlight streaming through an arched window wrapped in trailing vines. Soft moss-green cabinets and warm butcher-block counters ground the space, while open wooden shelves display kitchenware, glass bottles, and rustic dishes. Potted herbs, fresh flowers, and a Tiffany-style lamp add whimsy, making the room feel lived-in, cozy, and enchantingly curated — like a warm nook where cooking and magic coexist.

This cozy cottage kitchen features deep teal cabinets, warm wood countertops, and a vintage blue range that adds character. Open shelves display copper cookware, hanging herbs, rustic pottery, and plants that soften the space. A farmhouse sink frames the window, draped with breezy blue curtains. On the table, jars of homemade preserves, simple stoneware mugs, and a bowl of apples evoke a lived-in, homey feel — a kitchen where cooking, comfort, and tradition meet.

Bedroom

Inspired by Kiela

The fmc Kiela inspires these two room designs. You may think that they are both a bit of a stretch from the book, but if Kiela lived in this world, these are exactly how I would imagine her bedroom. The first leans in the direction of a modernized coastal theme, featuring blue and purple bedding and warm lighting. The second bedroom features a similar bedding, but adds more green. I think Caz and Meep would like this room a lot more.

Wooden nightstands with lamps flank a blue-and-lavender bed. Floating shelves display books, framed art, and potted plants. A woven rug softens the wooden floor, with slippers nearby. Sheer curtains frame a sunlit window overlooking the beach shore.

This bedroom radiates cozy charm with its soft pastel bedding, rustic wooden desk, and delicate lace curtains that let in a gentle wash of natural light. Thoughtful touches like the curled-up cat, fresh flowers, and botanical prints create a serene, lived-in feel, while woven baskets, potted plants, and a colorful rug add warmth and texture. It’s a space that invites quiet creativity and slow mornings with tea and books.

Living Room

Inspired by Larran's Coastal Home

Time to talk about good old Larran. This character is Kiela's love interest. The trope, in this book, is that the guy falls first. It's a cute romance, but I feel like it was aimed towards a younger audience. There is nothing wrong with that, I just prefer something a little more "adult" hahaha. Anyways, this room is my interpretation of a modernized coastal living inspired by Larran's house. I imagine his house to be very warm and filled with vibrant colors.

Cozy coastal living room with warm, earthy tones and a stunning sunset view over the ocean, highlighting the perfect blend of comfort and natural beauty.

The room features a burnt orange upholstered sofa with textured throw pillows, a rustic wooden coffee table, a matching side table with a ceramic lamp, and a woven planter holding a leafy green plant (ITS CAZ). The furniture blends earthy tones and natural textures for a cozy, coastal vibe.

Bathroom

Inspired by Meep and Caz

This bathroom is inspired by the characters Caz and Meep. Listen, this may seem odd, but who doesn't want a bathroom filled with beautiful plants? Plus, I just know Caz and Meep would love you for it, as long as Caz is as far away from the water as he can be... Both rooms feature plants all over the place. The first is more Mediterranean-centered, while the second is a more modern version.

This cottage-style bathroom features a carved wooden vanity with an ornate porcelain sink and brass fixtures, paired with an oval mirror suspended by a chain and flanked by antique-style sconces. The arched shower is tiled in rich green patterns and fitted with a vintage brass showerhead. Terracotta pots, woven baskets, and trailing vines fill the space with lush greenery, creating a tranquil, nature-infused retreat.

Wicker baskets, dried herbs, and an abundance of potted and hanging plants fill the space, creating a lush, earthy retreat that feels both enchanted and inviting.
